I'm Cyrilla Baer. I've been a professional actress (AEA/SAG-AFTRA - mostly stage and voiceover) for many years (www.CyrillaBaer.com). And back in 2001, I became a Certified Hypnotist as Cyrilla Baer Pond. Since then, at the same time I was a working performer, I've been helping actors get personal roadblocks out of their way! Everything from fear of dentists, to overcoming audition nerves, to learning self-hypnosis, to creating specialized memorization programs just for us. While, of course, I was trained in skills to help everybody, I speak the language of performing artists and my sessions are tailored to the specific needs of people in the Arts. Artists have a different way of looking at the world, and I speak that language - and language is the primary tool of the hypnotist.

In my early 60s(!) I realized that I am AuDHD. Since then, I have been working with fellow neurodivergents in the NeuroSpicy online community to develop techniques that work with our very different wiring, which can be quite different from the techniques used in traditional hypnosis. It's become my new passion and I learn fascinating stuff about us on an almost daily basis!

Backstory

While my love affair with theatre started when I was about 3, I actually became interested in hypnosis when I was in the 4th grade - my father was getting his Masters in Psychology and was using hypnosis on family and friends, and I would listen outside his study door. I promptly went to school, hypnotized a friend, came home to proudly brag about it, and got my poor father pretty upset. (Even though hypnosis is quite safe, a 9 year old hypnotist is not a great idea!)

Training

I received my Certification from The National Guild of Hypnotists in 2001.  I was trained by hypnotherapist Gerald Kein of the then OmniHypnosis Institute. I attended when it was based in DeLand, Florida and now The OMNI Hypnosis Training Center is the leading global organization focused on professional hypnosis education and training with more than 50 locations in 20 countries. Their training, company and the therapy processes are even ISO 9001 certified – as the first hypnosis training worldwide. Mr. Kein trained such noted hypnotherapists as Stephen Parkhill (author of the book ANSWER CANCER) and Cal Banyon of the Banyon Hypnosis Center (author, with Kein, of the book HYPNOSIS AND HYPNOTHERAPY, and creator of the 5-Path and 7-Path approaches to hypnotherapy, based on Gerry’s teachings).
